A remote-controlled electric drone is an aircraft that can travel in areas where people cannot. Drones are capable of carrying out activities on their own or with assistance from people.   A person in close proximity can totally or partially control the drone's flight, or the drone itself can fully or partially control the flight.  Electric drones are equipped with sensors like GPS, high-resolution cameras, and others.

Drones were initially utilized in the military, but today they are used throughout the agricultural supply chain to manage pests, boost yields, check on soil quality, and make farming-related chores simpler.

Agricultural drone operations

Agricultural Drone use has begun on an agave field in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

The world's largest distiller of spirits believes that by doing this, Diageo is better able to train its agave farmers for the future of the tequila business, develop digital drone-flying capabilities, and implement more effective farming methods while generating "Environmental advantages."       Since the middle of 2022, agricultural drones have been in motion to assess which agave plants require pesticides and fertilizers and how much, as well as to maximize water consumption while enhancing agave farming productivity.

The agave plant is a crucial component in the creation of tequila, according to the business.

The agricultural drones operate in pairs, with one identifying plants that require attention and gathering information on their development, and the other dispensing a water-based fertilizer and pesticide mixture as necessary at night when the stomata open.

Agave farmers are able to make wiser resource-use decisions because to data collecting.

Agricultural Drones help growers concentrate on establishing and caring for new agave plants.  We are attempting to determine whether agricultural drone spraying will allow us to more effectively target certain fields or use fewer chemicals.

We refer to it as "precision agriculture," and we intend to use it to produce food at the same rate while using less chemical input and better managing the land.  The cost of planes, pilots, and fuel might be eliminated by using agricultural drone spraying, and drones can be trained to operate autonomously.
